Tips for Webmasters
Print this page
A VideByte™ is a flash video prepared to make it easy
for you to insert into your client's web site. You do not have
to do anything to it - just insert it wherever your client
wants is on their site. Make sure that the VideByte™ file is in
the same folder as the page on which it is to be displayed.
VideBytes™ come in 2 sizes:
- Standard Size - best displayed at 320x240
- Large Size - best displayed at 480x360 or 640x480
Each size VideByte™ has 2 versions:
- Click-to-Play - always use this unless there is a
special reason not to use it
- Automatic Play - use this on a special destination page
for VideByte™ emails, etc. See below.
Always use a Click-to-Play version unless there is a special
reason to use the Automatic Play.
Where you would use an Automatic Play
VideByte™
In that people can easily get annoyed when a video starts
playing automatically on a web page, it is generally best to
use it only on a special destination page.
Examples of special destination pages:
- A hyperlink is included in a email - "Click to see
video," etc.
See
How to send a VideByte™ email for ideas.
- A hyperlink from another web page "See video,"
etc.
 |
A good rule of thumb for
using Automatic Play
VideBytes™
Only use Automatic Play VideBytes™
on web pages where people expect to
see a video begin playing when they
open the page. |
